Poison Kills More Than Just Pests
Recent wildlife poisonings in the Carol Beach area are alarming. Two magnificent Great Horned Owls, a tagged Red-tailed Hawk and, likely, a young Red Fox have fallen victim to poisoning. Many deaths may go unseen, as area residents also report a decline in Coyote and other wildlife sightings. When mice or any rodents are poisoned, they often will go outside disoriented, making them an easy target for owls, hawks, and foxes, which then themselves succumb to the poison. How can we prevent this tragedy?

First, alert neighbors and friends that the poison they use may kill more than their pests.
Second, use or recommend alternatives safe for wildlife, like traps or the product MouseX®,
Third, if a professional pest control service is involved, find out what poison they use and if it is safe.
Fourth, when in doubt, check it out at https://urbanwildlifealliance.org/2017/05/24/poison-kills-more-than-just-pests/
Fifth, if you find a suspected poisoning victim, call 773-515-2772.

PLEASE, do this to protect wildlife!
