Next week, the City of Pleasant Hill hosts its annual Community Service Day on Saturday, Sept. 19, a chance for everyone in the community to pitch in and make a difference. The City is teaming up with the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano to collect new, unexpired, shelf-stable food for families in need.

Here are two easy ways to help:
🚌 Fill the Bus
A Central Contra Costa Transit Authority bus will be parked at Cleaveland and Gregory avenues, near Pleasant Hill Park, from 7:30 a.m. to noon. Drop off your donation and help fill it up.

🛒 Food Drive at Grocery Outlet
The Pleasant Hill Police Department will be collecting donations outside Grocery Outlet (1671 Contra Costa Blvd.) from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Pleasant Hill Planning Commission will hold a study session to discuss potential restrictions related to gas-powered landscaping equipment. The goal is to explore ways to support the City’s Climate Action Plan and General Plan while protecting community health.
