Good morning Facebook . This is just one more nugget, one more gem that I will share to wrap up this great Black History Month. My last stop was on Sunday for the Busy Bee Academy and Buzzin Bees Learning School’s Black History observance.
I was highlighted as black history.
Little Karleigh Young portrayed me and shared it with an awaiting audience . The special part about little Carly is that she is the granddaughter of my cousin . She spoke of my accomplishments that I have gained throughout the years. I am so humbled by God and thankful to him that he has allowed me to accomplish so much in these 56 years of life . I am forever grateful, and I mean that from the depths of my heart to God. I am not ashamed to thank God on any platform of what he’s done for me. This particular black history program was so special in that the kids from ages two all the way up to four maybe 5, were just amazing. They learned their speeches to pay tribute to people like me. Many thanks to the Busy Bee Academy’s owner, Dr Valerie T Woods, and her staff, for such an event. The event was definitely top shelf and outstanding is not enough to describe the packed house I walked into on yesterday . Thank you so much for the honor. They were able to make posters and come up with something creative to make sure folks knew who I was, and the others as well who were honored on Sunday. I felt blessed to be amongst Senators, legislators, Judges, Chiefs of police and the list goes on and on and on. Thanks again Dr Valerie T. Wood, who happens to be my cousin as well, and your incredible staff. It’s people like you who give me hope for our future leaders. Thank you so much again for the honor.
Just a sidenote because I don’t mind sharing the stage. Our first African-American female mayor for the city of Pleasant Grove , Yolanda Lawson was honored as well. She was portrayed by Miss Trinity who did an outstanding job. Myself and Senator Merika Coleman received her presentation on her behalf . God bless you
