🚨👏🏻Congratulations to FF/AEMT Parker Wiscombe on successfully completing Heavy Rescue School through the Utah County Special Response Team. Over the course of 6 intensive weeks, the class completed training and certification in six rescue disciplines including rope rescue, confined space rescue, trench rescue, heavy machinery rescue, heavy extrication, and swift water rescue.
This advanced training requires countless hours of hands-on instruction, study time, and dedication. FF/AEMT Wiscombe now brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and experience back to the Pleasant Grove Fire Department to better serve both our department and community.
Please join us in congratulating him on this outstanding accomplishment and thanking him for his continued dedication to professional growth and public safety. 🚒👏🏻🔥

🔥🌡️As temperatures rise and fuel conditions continue to dry across the state, a busy wildland fire season is expected. Meet the members of the Pleasant Grove Fire Department Wildland Team — a dedicated group of firefighters who train year-round to protect our communities, public lands, and natural resources.
Our Wildland Team regularly deploys both in and out of state, assisting with a variety of suppression and fire management operations alongside local, state, and federal partners. From long operational periods on the fireline to challenging terrain and extreme conditions, these firefighters are prepared to answer the call wherever they are needed.
Please join us in wishing them a safe and successful fire season as they begin another demanding and labor-intensive summer protecting lives, property, and the communities we serve. 🔥🌲🚒

Last week, Pleasant Grove Fire Department held a formal badge pinning, oath of office, and leather helmet presentation for Firefighter/AEMT Briggs Fenton following the successful completion of his year-long probationary period. During the ceremony, FF/AEMT Fenton was officially sworn in and took an oath to faithfully serve and protect the community of Pleasant Grove.
Briggs was presented with his badge along with a traditional leather helmet — a longstanding tradition in the fire service and here at PGFD that symbolizes commitment, pride, and dedication to the profession. We commend him for his hard work, perseverance, and dedication to both the department and the community he serves.
We also recognized Kage Hall, Boston Brower, and Justin Kilgore for completing paramedic school and advancing to the highest level of EMS certification. Each was presented with a Chief’s Coin in recognition of their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to continuing their education and service to others.
Please join us in congratulating all of them on these outstanding accomplishments and for their continued dedication and service to our community.

🌲🔥PGFD Wildland crews recently completed the Wildland S-212 Chainsaw Operations course, sharpening critical skills for the fireline. This training focuses on safe and effective saw use in dynamic wildland environments—an essential tool in both suppression and mitigation efforts.
Following the course, our crews partnered with the U.S. Forest Service in Santaquin Canyon to help mitigate hazardous, beetle-killed and diseased trees. Projects like this reduce fuel loading, improve forest health, and help protect our community before fire season intensifies.

This week is National Firefighters Memorial Week.
This Saturday and Sunday, Pleasant Grove Fire Department will be turning our station lights red to honor the brave firefighters who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
We invite our community to join us in this tribute. If you have color-changing lights at your home or business, consider turning them red as a symbol of remembrance and respect.
Together, we honor the fallen and stand in support of those who continue to serve.❤️‍🩹🚨🚒

Open Burn Reminder - Pleasant Grove City
The spring open burn window runs April 1st through May 31st. If you plan to burn, make sure you’re doing it responsibly, so we don’t create unnecessary fire department call-outs. Below is a link to the burn permit application.
https://www.pgcityutah.gov/departments/fire/regulations/ open_burning.php
Common-sense rules to follow:
• Fires must be completely out by dusk. No exceptions. Smoldering piles after dark are a fast way to get a visit from the fire department.
• Watch the wind. If it’s even moderately windy,
don’t burn. Wind + embers = problems fast.
• Keep water and tools nearby. A charged hose, shovel, or dirt pile should always be within reach.
• Keep fires small and manageable. This isn’t a bonfire event-control is the goal.
• Burn only clean, dry yard waste. No trash, construction debris, or anything that creates excessive smoke.
• Never leave a fire unattended. If you walk away, the fire should already be out.
• Avoid unnecessary call-outs. If your fire creates heavy smoke, visible flames at dusk, or looks out of control, expect someone to call it in.
A little responsibility goes a long way-burn smart, keep it safe, and help keep emergency crews available for real emergencies.
Let’s work together to keep our communities sate and maintain good air quality this season.
