Today our club continued our nearly 100 year tradition of honoring agriculture with our Annual Farmers Day.

- A huge thank you to Roger Wehrbein for continuing to be the program host for this event year after year.

-Mrs. Sharon Smith for cooking, serving and cleaning up a delicious meal.

-Conestoga High School FFA Chapter for leading our meeting.

-Nebraska Secretary of State Robert B. Evnen for joining us for our meeting.

-Thanks to the many local farmers for joining us for this special day.

-Last but not least to Mr. Buck Wehrbein of Mead for sharing his knowledge about Cattle Production and the Beef Industry.

Each year for the last 20+ years our Rotary club has delivered Christmas presents to the residents of the local retirement homes. Today, we wrapped 246 Christmas presents that we will deliver next week. Our club meets Wednesdays at noon at the Methodist church - if you would like to check out what other fun projects we have going on, let us know or just stop by for a visit!

Our Rotary Club had the pleasure of once again helping put on Happy Camp for the 6th graders at Platte River State Park. The students got to enjoy a beautiful day to be at the park and also learned some of the dangers of smoking and va**ng.

Moving Day! Last Wednesday, our Club members moved to our new location - First United Methodist Church. We truly appreciate being able to use the First State Bank’s Community Room for years. But on to new adventures!

This week, Greg Smith with Omaha/Council Bluffs Bridges Out of Poverty, will be joining us. We would love you to join us at noon!

Jason Eisenman, Vice President of Safety and HR, with Liquid Trucking joined us for our program yesterday. He discussed the history of our local family-owned business and all of its services. We are so grateful for this business in our community!

We were privileged to host the Nebraska Army and Air National Guard today. During his visit to the City of Plattsmouth, Adjutant General Major General Strong took part in a ceremony honoring the sacrifices of veterans, both past and present. The presence of the National Guard is deeply appreciated!

May marks a special focus on youth development for Rotary International. With a strong emphasis on empowering future leaders, Rotary offers programs that help young people develop essential leadership skills, expand their educational horizons, and understand the value of serving others.

A key initiative in this effort is the Rotary Youth Exchange program, through which Rotary clubs sponsor young people to study abroad while welcoming international students into their own communities.
