Congratulations to Firefighter Trenten Taylor for winning the Peru High School Athlete of the Year! Trent was influential in the Peru Nighthawk Sectional Championship Football, Basketball, and Baseball teams this year. We are very proud of Trent’s accomplishments on and off the field and we wish him the best of luck as departs later this summer for Basic Training with the United States Marine Corp.

Last night, members of South Plattsburgh and Peru Fire Department’s got together for some joint training.

Crews practiced drafting operations from the lake, filling tankers, and drafting from a portable pond to strengthen our rural water supply capabilities. Members also conducted training aboard 32-Marine, reviewing equipment and operational procedures for water responses.

Thank you to Peru Fire Department for joining us. Working alongside neighboring agencies helps ensure we are prepared to provide the best possible service to our communities.

Members took full advantage of the nice weather for tonight's monthly work detail. Both stations completed station chores and truck checks. The crew at Station 1 fired up the grill and cooked a feast for everyone and even delivered to Station 2. After some food and chores a few members took 322 out for some driver training and a review on drafting operations.

The Engine 322 crew was ready for a Boxing Day mutual aid run. It’s been a busy holiday for the SPFD crew responding to 6 calls since noon on Christmas Eve. We appreciate the year round dedication of our Members but we want to give them a shout out for going the extra mile leaving, friends, family, festivities and food to respond to calls in the bitter cold over the last few days. 💪🏻🚒
