Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department The Town of Plattsburgh Parks & Recreation Department is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life and promoting a sense of community within the Town.

Goals

To achieve our mission, we will:
Provide recreational programs and services which will enhance the physical, social and emotional well-being of all community residents. Maintain existing facilities, building and grounds to the highest safety standards while seeking opportunities for future development. Provide qualified and professional staff to develop and administer programs and events. C

ontinue to collaborate with existing partnerships and actively search for other local organizations that have common goals to share programs and services. Offer comprehensive, quality recreational programming to participants of varying age levels, physical abilities and unique interests.

Mayor’s Cup Kayak Paddle Outing
Date: Saturday, July 11, 2026
Time: 8:00am
Location: Plattsburgh City Beach (4 Beach Road)
What better way to celebrate summer in the North Country than joining the Town of Plattsburgh's Mayor's Cup Kayak Paddle? Boats will leave the Plattsburgh City Beach promptly at 8:00am. The paddle will last no more than two hours and the route and destinations will be determined by wind and weather. Register with the Town of Plattsburgh at 518-562-6860 (deadline to reserve is Tuesday, July 7th) and you can also inquire about renting a boat if needed (boat rentals are free of charge but available only on a first-come-first-served basis). Show your love for Lake Champlain and perhaps get a glimpse of the sailboats leaving the harbor to compete in the Mayor's Cup Regatta!
