We are excited to announce that Platteville Fire Department, Inc. has selected Custom Fire as the manufacturer of their new custom top mount pumper. This will be a beautiful accent for their new station! A stainless-steel pumper body on the popular Spartan Metro Star Long 4 Door cab. This is our first project with the Platteville Fire Department, and it represents a truly custom design with the elevated operator platform and walkways along both sides of the hose bed.

Thanks to DC Casey Pickel, Chief Ryan Simmons, and the entire Platteville Fire Department apparatus committee for their support and enthusiasm for Custom Fire Apparatus, Inc.

Fire Prevention Week starts today! The National Fire Protection Assocation campaign this year is awareness about lithium-ion batteries in your home.

Anything with a lithium-ion battery — phones, laptops, e-bikes, power tools —can become a fire hazard if it’s not charged safely. Always use the charger that came with the device or one approved by the manufacturer. If the cord only works when you bend it just right, it’s time to replace it. For more info: www.fpw.org

Prayers to his family during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Francis Dick Klinger who departed this life peacefully surrounded by family on August 15, 2025 at the age of 86. Dick was born on May 27, 1939, in Platteville, Wisconsin to Francis and Leona Wehnke Klinger. He lived
