Below are a few tidbits about what is happening at the Platteville library these days.

Now Hiring
The library is currently hiring for 2 part-time positions, one in the Youth Services Department and one in the Adult Services Department. Applicants can apply for both positions using the same application. We will begin reviewing applications on February 22. These are half-time (20 hours/week) positions with one evening per week, and one weekend per month. Interested candidates can learn more here: https://www.platteville.org/jobs.

Free COVID Tests
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services sent us a large shipment of COVID tests to distribute to the community. Starting today, and while supplies last, anyone can stop in to help themselves to free Binax Now COVID tests on the 1st floor of the library.

Marklein Listening Session
Senator Marklein will be at the library on Monday, February 12 from 1:30-2:30 for a public listening session. You can read more about the event here: https://fb.me/e/1Ped8w8Ra. This event is not hosted or endorsed by the library, but it is an excellent opportunity to remind Senator Marklein about some of the topics we have been discussing at our monthly TIDE meetings.

Blood Drive on Wednesday, February 14
The Red Cross will be at the library on Wednesday from 10am-3pm for a blood drive. There is currently an emergency blood shortage, as the nation faces the lowest number of people giving blood in 20 years. Your donation will help save lives!

Community Involvement Fair
Find out how you can be more involved in the Platteville community! Visit with members of area organizations at the Community Involvement Fair on March 2 from 10:30-12:30. at the Library. We still have space for a few more groups - visit https://bit.ly/PPLcif2024 to sign up for a table.

The library is compiling a list of local groups and organizations to share with our community.
