Northland Regional Ambulance District

Northland Regional Ambulance District NRAD is the advanced life support prehospital EMS provider for 340 square miles in northwestern Clay

Northland Regional Ambulance District is a political subdivision, established in 1994 by the registered voters within the district’s boundaries. The district is governed by an elected board of directors, who serve in the six sub-districts within NRAD’s boundaries. An Executive Director, hired by the board, oversees the day-to-day operations of the district. The district encompasses more than 340 s

quare miles in Platte and Clay counties, north of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The district includes the Camden Point, Dearborn, Smithville and Central Platte fire protection districts, as well as a portion of the Edgerton-Trimble Fire Protection District. We also provide Mutual-Aid responses to the communities surrounding our district. Our emergency medical technicians and paramedics provide Advanced Life Support emergency medical care to the ill and injured. The medical crew members are highly-trained in the methods and mechanics of providing the highest level of emergency medical care possible to each patient. Our medical personnel are licensed and registered through state and national EMS organizations, and maintain their credentials through constant training and education. NRAD’s EMTs and Paramedics are affiliated with the International Association of Firefighters, Local 42.

NRAD exists because this community supports us.

For over 30 years, the residents of northwestern Clay and northeastern Platte counties have trusted us to show up when it matters most. That trust is something we don't take lightly.

This week we celebrate our crews, but we also want to say thank you to the community that makes this work possible. We're glad to be here.

Today we pause to remember the men and women who gave everything in service to this country.

From all of us at NRAD, thank you. We are grateful for your sacrifice and honored to serve a community that never forgets.

Happy Memorial Day.

Thirty years of service is a lot of calls, a lot of miles, and a lot of moments that matter. Here's a look at where we stand today.

• 350 square miles covered across two counties
• 4 fully-staffed ALS units running around the clock
• Over 30 years of service to this community
• 1 goal: get to you as fast as we can and give you the best care possible

We're proud of what this team has built, and we're just getting started.

This year's EMS Week theme is "Improving Outcomes, Together."

Every call our crews run comes down to a moment where someone needed help and trusted us to show up. Sometimes it's dramatic. A lot of the time it's quiet. But every single one of those calls matters, and the outcome depends on the people behind the patch showing up prepared, skilled, and ready to care.

NRAD is proud to be part of a profession that takes that responsibility seriously. This week we celebrate our paramedics and EMTs, and we're grateful for a community that supports the work they do every day.

Every call is different. A child who can't breathe. A car accident on a dark road. Someone having a heart attack at home alone.

Our crews walk into those moments every single day. They carry advanced life support equipment, years of training, and a genuine commitment to this community into every call they run.

To our paramedics and EMTs, thank you for the work you do that most people never see.

EMS Week starts today, and we want to take a moment to talk about the people behind the patches.

NRAD's paramedics and EMTs work 24 hours a day, seven days a week, across 350 square miles of northwestern Clay and northeastern Platte counties. They show up on your worst days, and they do it with skill, compassion, and dedication that doesn't get nearly enough recognition.

This week is for them. We're proud of every single one of them.

Uncontrolled bleeding is one of the leading causes of preventable death from trauma. Knowing what to do in the first few minutes can save someone's life.

NRAD offers free Stop the Bleed training for community members, scout groups, school staff, and more. The class takes about 20 minutes and teaches you exactly what to do until help arrives.

Contact us to schedule a training for your group.
