We were happy to attend the ribbon cutting last evening for this exciting trail connection project!

Platte County Parks is proud to have provided partial funding through a 2025 Platte County Outreach Grant. Congratulations to the City of Riverside and all of the partners who helped make this trail improvement a reality. Projects like this help expand recreational opportunities and strengthen connections throughout Platte County.

💰 Now Accepting Applications: Parks & Recreation Partnership Grants 💰

Every two years, Platte County Parks offers the Parks & Recreation Partnership Grant Program to help fund major park and recreation projects that benefit Platte County residents.

This grant program is designed for local governments and public entities seeking to develop, expand, or improve public parks and recreation facilities in Platte County.

Eligible projects may include:
🌳 Park improvements
🥾 Trails and trail connections
🛝 Playgrounds
🏀 Athletic and recreational facilities
🚴 Other recreation-related capital projects

Grant awards range from $50,000 to $1,000,000 per project.

🚧 Prairie Creek Greenway Trail Maintenance Project Update 🚧

Phase I of the Prairie Creek Greenway Trail Maintenance Project will begin Tuesday, May 26.

Please expect temporary trail closures while each phase of the project is underway. If a section of the trail is closed, please use another section of the trail system during construction.

🚜 Heavy equipment will be present on the trail as crews repave asphalt sections and repair bridge approaches.

⏳ Each phase is expected to take approximately 2 weeks, with the total project anticipated to last around 2 months.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve and preserve the Prairie Creek Greenway Trail system for the community!

🛶 Looking for a summer adventure on the Platte River? 🌞

As part of the Anita B. Gorman Conservation Discovery Center’s Adult Summer Camp Series, Missouri Department of Conservation is offering Kayak KC on Monday, June 1 from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM on the Platte River in Platte County!

Participants may bring their own kayak gear or use equipment provided by MDC.
