ALL WATERWAYS & BOAT RAMPS ARE BACK OPEN! 🚤

Water levels have receded allowing all waterways and public boat ramps to reopen.

The Bayou Sorrel and Bayou Pigeon bridges will also return to their normal nighttime operating schedules. Night bridge openings will no longer be needed.

Thank you to our residents, boaters, first responders, and public works crews for their patience and cooperation throughout this high-water event.

For questions, contact the Iberville Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness at (225) 687-5140.

On Friday, we officially kicked off our 2026 Internship Program and welcomed our largest internship class to date during Internship Orientation!

Interns had the opportunity to hear from Parish President Chris Daigle and members of our Human Resources team as they learned more about their summer assignments, expectations, and the important role they will play in serving our community.

Throughout June, many of our interns will be working with Camp 360, helping create an unforgettable summer experience for local youth. In July, they will transition into departments across Iberville Parish Government, gaining valuable hands-on experience and learning firsthand how local government serves our residents.

We are excited to have this talented group join us this summer and look forward to seeing all they accomplish. Please join us in wishing our 2026 interns a successful and rewarding summer! ☀️👏

Monthly Emergency Drill Test – Monday at 10:00 AM 🚨

Iberville Parish will conduct its routine monthly emergency siren test this Monday at 10:00 AM. This is only a test, and no action is required.

Regular testing helps ensure our emergency notification systems are working properly and ready when they’re needed most.

If you have any questions, please contact Iberville Parish Emergency Preparedness at (225) 687-5140.

Reminder:
Tonight from 12am (Midnight) to 3am!

BAYOU SORREL & BAYOU PIGEON BRIDGE OPENING NOTICE 🚨

Beginning tonight, the Bayou Sorrel Bridge and Bayou Pigeon Bridge will be opened nightly from 12:00 AM – 3:00 AM (starting early Thursday morning, May 28) until further notice to assist with increased water outflow and help lower water levels in the Bayou Sorrel and Bayou Pigeon communities.

These overnight bridge openings are part of ongoing efforts to improve drainage conditions as additional rainfall and elevated water levels continue to impact the area.

In the event of an emergency, an operator will remain on site to close the bridge as needed.

We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation as crews continue monitoring conditions and working to protect our communities. 💧🇺🇸

At this month’s Parish Council meeting, President Daigle and the Parish Council proudly recognized several dedicated employees celebrating milestone service anniversaries with Iberville Parish. 👏

Alyssa Crochet and Tammie Gougisha were honored in attendance for 5 years of service, while Sandra Castlea and Carrie Collier were also recognized for their incredible 5 years of commitment to our parish.

We also recently caught up with Dinesha Fernandez on her 5-year anniversary, along with Clayton Howard, for celebrating 20 years of service, and Eldric Smith for an incredible 30 years of dedication to Iberville Parish. While they were unable to attend the Council meeting earlier this year, we still wanted to recognize and thank them for their outstanding commitment to serving our community! 👏

Thank you all for your hard work, dedication, and the years you’ve devoted to serving the people of Iberville Parish. Your commitment helps keep our community moving forward every day, and we are truly grateful for each of you. 💙

As we close out Mental Health Awareness Month, our Director of Behavioral Health, Dr. LaCrystal Wilson-Johnson, sat down with members of our administrative team to hear their best mental health tips and advice. 💚

From managing stress to making time for self-care, these simple reminders can make a big difference in our daily lives.

Take a moment to hear their insights, and remember — mental health matters every day of the year. The Office of Behavioral Health is here to support the residents of Iberville Parish all year long.
