Thanks to the many residents and visitors who came to see us at the 21st annual Children’s BookFest! Dinosaurs, books, cotton candy, music, and a paint-it-yourself fire truck were just a few fun things among many at this year’s event at West Regional Library.
Thank you to FF’s Kaitlin Murphins and Christian Konover for staffing this event!

Happy EMS Week, everyone!

Captain Janelle Keyser began her career in 2004 as a volunteer firefighter and expanded her role into the rescue division in 2008, where she further developed her operational and medical response skills.
Inspired by a personal experience in which a paramedic saved a family member following a traumatic accident, she pursued advanced medical training and became a paramedic, dedicating her career to providing the same level of lifesaving care to others.
She advanced steadily in leadership roles, earning promotion to Lieutenant in 2017 and later to EMS Captain in 2024. She holds 11 state certifications and brings extensive field expertise to all fire rescue operations.
She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Management and is currently pursuing a master’s degree, continuing to build on her professional knowledge and leadership in the field of emergency services.

Captain Keyser is currently assigned to A-Shift, and leads the crew on Rescue 56.

We salute you as you follow your calling and for the positive effect you’ve had on the EMS Division, and the residents and visitors in the city of Plantation!

Today we are spotlighting Lt. Daniel Tringali! He has been a dedicated member of the fire department since his hiring in 2004 and has continued to demonstrate strong leadership since his promotion to Lieutenant in 2009. He is highly dependable, consistently showing up prepared and ready to perform at a high level on every shift.

Known for his polite and professional demeanor, Lt. Tringali fosters a respectful and positive work environment while maintaining high standards for patient care and team performance. He is also recognized for providing aggressive, effective treatment in critical situations, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients. In addition to his operational strengths, he is committed to the growth of others, willingly mentoring new employees and helping them develop the skills and confidence needed to succeed in the fire service.

Off duty, he enjoys fishing and spending time with his family. His hobbies include fishing, coffee, and family time. Danny’s oldest is headed off to be a marine at the end of summer. His middle son is a junior, and daughter is now a middle schooler.

Happy EMS Week!

Today, we spotlight Lt. Jorge Gonzalez. He became certified as a firefighter and paramedic with a desire to help others, serve, and to make a difference in people’s lives. He joined PFD in 2002.

Promoted to lieutenant in May 2011, has been leading crews with servant leadership and clinical discipline. While not the loudest voice in the room, his is often the most trusted. Jorge stepped up temporarily into the shift captain role and gained valuable experience while assisting with shift administration.

Lt. Gonzalez currently serves with C-Shift on Rescue 25 at Plantation Fire Department Station 1.

Lt. Gonzalez, our department salutes your expertise and commitment to our residents and visitors!
