THIS is the kind of community we’re always talking about 👏📚

On Saturday, we teamed up with Bibliobar to host NYT bestselling author Soman Chainani in conversation with Plano student Molly Morehead about his newest novel, Young World.

They discussed what inspired this novel, as well as what it could look like if youth took a more active role in government and leadership.

We’re grateful that proceeds from the event benefited Plano Library Friends. And huge thanks to Ten 20 Gallery in the Downtown Plano Arts District for the gorgeous space.

Being a Plano Library Friend is not only supporting the Library — it means being part of moments like this and the community that makes them happen.

Did y’all see us at Plano Asiafest this weekend??

We had so much fun giving out stickers, selling Friends swag, and telling attendees how we support the Library 📕 making many of their programs possible.

We were stationed next to our besties from Plano Public Library which made it even better.

Their bubble blaster 🫧 was a BIG hit, especially among our board members, who maybe got a little carried away with the bubbles (looking at you, John ).

It was a great afternoon spreading a little library joy. 💜

Our first-ever Books & Brews on April 18 was honestly such a great day, despite a rainy start to the morning 🌧️

Our community showed up BIG to support local authors, small businesses and our beloved Plano Public Library. Book people really are the best people 💜

A giant thank you to Assembly Icehouse, Cliff Coffee and Assembly Park for hosting us! They were good to us, so we hope you pay them a visit in the future.

If you were there, what do you think: Should we do it again?

The Friends Bookstore inside Haggard Library was just restocked and it's completely full of great finds!

The kids' section has so many treasures right now, so we're not saying you should drive over there immediately but...🚗

Hardcover books are $2 and paperbacks are $1. And your purchase supports the Friends (that's us!) who in turn support Plano Public Library.

Haggard Library's address is 2501 Coit Road, and we have Friends Bookstores in every Plano Library location. Happy shopping!
