On Tuesday June 9th, a special send-off was held for two outstanding athlete groups! Girls A Softball Team, departed for a championship at Londonderry Middle School. All-State Track Athletes, departed for the NH Meet of Champions at Manchester Memorial. Good luck to both groups!

The RMS Titanic came to life for the 6th grade students with a visit from surviving First Class passenger Roberta Maioni and Third-Class passenger Daniel Buckley. They presented facts about the fateful ship and about their personal experience.

Miss Maioni was a maid for the Countess of Rothes and had the true love story aboard Titanic. She and a young steward experienced love at first sight and spent their free time getting to know each other. When the ship sank, he gave his life jacket and his nametag to Roberta and had her promise to never forget him. She never did but she also never told anyone his name. She survived in lifeboat 16.

Mr. Buckley was travelling with many people from his hometown in Ireland. When Titanic struck the iceberg, he helped passengers into lifeboats and made a split-second decision to hide in one under the seats. A woman in the lifeboat threw a shawl over him to conceal his identity. He survived in lifeboat 13.

Now, the 6th grade students will write an argumentative essay stating who or what they believe sank the Titanic.

The two-time winning middle school competitive cooking team was challenged by the school board in a cook-off! TRMS recreated their winning gyoza dish while the school board created arancini and tacos. The judges' votes declared both teams as winners.

Eighth graders on Team Atlas filled the PAC with courage, honesty, and heart during their annual Spoken Word Celebration on May 21st. Twenty-seven student poets took the stage to share original pieces inspired by this year’s theme, Finding Our Voices, in Mrs. Boretti’s Language Arts classes. In front of peers, families, staff, and administrators, students spoke openly about identity, resilience, belonging, heartbreak, hope, and the strength it takes to be truly seen. Every voice mattered. Every story left an impact. It was more than a performance. It was a reminder of the power of words and the bravery of the students who shared them.

Our TRMS 8th graders had an incredible experience visiting Washington, DC, over April break! Throughout the trip, students explored our nation’s history, visited important landmarks and memorials, and gained meaningful learning experiences outside of the classroom.

Beyond the educational opportunities, the trip provided students with time to bond, build friendships, and create memories that will last a lifetime. We are proud of the way our students represented TRMS with respect, curiosity, and positivity throughout the trip.
A special thank you to our staff for chaperoning, and families for helping make this wonderful experience possible!
