2nd NOTICE TO PLAISTOW VOTERS
The Supervisors of the Checklist in Plaistow will be meeting on Friday, May 29th from 9-9:30am to start an Annual Verification of the Checklist. New Hampshire law requires that the Supervisors verify the checklist every year. Any person on the checklist who has not voted since April 1, 2021, must re-register to remain on the checklist. At the meeting the checklist will be reviewed in order to begin the removal process for anyone who has not voted in at least one election held since April 1, 2021. We will be sending notice letters to these voters at the address the voter provided when registering.
Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, June 2nd from 7-7:30 pm. This meeting is mandated by the state to give voters one last opportunity to change their party affiliation before the September primary. After this date no party changes may be accepted until after September 8th.
The next meeting after will be on Monday, July 13th from 4:30-5pm. The Supervisors will take action to remove those voters from the checklist who do not respond to the annual verification notice letters. Again those letters are only being sent to voters who have not voted since April 1, 2021.
All the meetings will be held at the Town Clerkβs Office, Town Hall, 145 Main St. Plaistow. At each meeting the Supervisors will also be available to register new voters or make any changes for existing voters. Reminder requests for party changes will not be accepted at the July 13th meeting.
If registering to vote in Plaistow for the first time, please be advised of the importance of bringing the required documents to prove age, identity, domicile (resident of Plaistow) and US citizenship. In addition, a new law requires anyone making a name change to supply supporting documents.
