Plaistow, NH Jr Firefighters make a rescue!!!

Today at appx 215 PM, Junior Firefighters James Moran & Cam Travers made a rescue of a cat stuck in a tree!

A nearby neighbor heard a cat crying loudly and alerted people in the neighborhood of Sunrise Terrace.

Junior Firefighters James Moran & Cam Travers jumped into action by borrowing a 24ft ladder from a neighbor's yard and together threw the ladder. Junior Firefighter Moran successfully climbed up and rescued the cat while Junior Firefighter Travers footed the ladder for James to climb.

What made this more difficult was that it was in a thick, wooded area, and the ground was covered in thick mud.

This is what training is all about!! It wasn't long ago that neither Junior knew how to throw or climb a ladder! These two juniors worked together as they were trained and got the job done.

Well done, James & Cam!! Your training is paying off!

Well, your Plaistow Junior Firefighters are on the way home after an amazing 3 day trip visiting firehouses within the FDNY

Today's trip was to E237 in Brooklyn, Rescue 3 in Da Bronx & E88/L38.

Att the members at all the houses treated our Junior's with amazing, welcoming them into what is essential their homes.

At E237 the Members gave a tour of their fire house and spoke to the kids about their response area. A few of the Junior's got to slide down the pole from the 3nd floor to the apperatus floor

After a drive back into the Bronx, we stopped at Rescue 3 and the members from the house spent time with the Juniors going through the rig and talking to them about all the specialized equipment they have.

R3 does everything you can think of from, roof rope rescue, to auto extraction to trench collapse and water recover of victims who are in need of help in the water.

Finally, the kids ended the tour at E88/L38 in the Bronx. These outstanding members opened up their station and rolled out the red carpet. They invited them in to see all 3 floors of the station, including bringing to their upstairs 3rd floor basket court.

While we we're there they invited the juniors to pastry on the kitchen table and gave each Junior a pin and a decal.

I can not explain how successful this 3 day trip was and how proud I am to be part of such an amazing brotherhood. The member so spend any time with our Juniors, I want personally say, THANK YOU! The success of this trip came directly from the members if the FDNY and the time spent with each and every one of our Plaistow, NH Jr Firefighters !
