Rotary Club of Plainview

Rotary Club of Plainview The Rotary Club of Plainview upholds Rotary International's mission to provide service to others, pro Rotary’s top priority is the global eradication of polio.

A Message from Rotary Club of Plainview President:

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Plainview! Rotarians are people of action, in our community, in our Rotary district, and in the world. Rotary members improve lives and strengthen communities around the world by promoting peace, fighting disease, providing safe water and sanitation, supporting education, saving mothers and children, growing local ec

onomies, and protecting the environment. Rotary launched its polio immunization program, PolioPlus, in 1985 and in 1988 became a leading partner in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. Rotary brings together a global network of volunteer leaders dedicated to tackling the world’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Rotary connects 1.4 million members of more than 46,000 Rotary clubs in over 200 countries and geographical areas. Their work improves lives at both the local and international levels, from helping families in need in their own communities to working toward a polio-free world. Locally, our Rotary club partners with our schools to promote education and literacy through distributing awards for perfect attendance, purchasing dictionaries for every third grader in Hale County, recognizing excellence through our student-of-the-month awards/scholarships, and sponsoring Cub Scout Pack 252. We strive to put service above self by volunteering in our community from packing food with Snack Pak 4 Kids to ringing the bell for the Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign. When there is an opportunity to serve, you'll find Rotarians making a difference. If you are a person of action and believe in service above self, we want you to be our guest for lunch on Tuesdays at noon at the Plainview ISD Board Room. Together, we can imagine a better world and make our dreams a reality.

Reminder: Tomorrow's meeting will be held at the Plainview ISD Board Room at noon. Our program speaker will be Chris Thornhill, who will provide an update on the Cub Scout Pack that Rotary proudly supports.

Lunch will be catered by Field House Deli.

Please continue inviting guests and sharing the value of Rotary membership. Last week, Veronica invited a guest who brought a friend, and both left with membership proposal forms. Personal invitations remain the most effective way to showcase Rotary’s impact and grow our club.

Mark Your Calendars! Join us on June 15 as we serve our community at the College Heights Food Pantry.

The College Heights Food Pantry provides free food to community members on select Mondays each month, and our Rotary Club is proud to lend a helping hand. Volunteers will assist by moving food carts to vehicles and helping load groceries as families drive through. The pantry team has an excellent system in place, making it easy for Rotary members to jump in and serve.

This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with community members, make a meaningful impact, and live out Rotary’s commitment to Service Above Self.

The Rotary Club of Plainview is proud to sponsor students attending this year’s RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) Camp!

Pictured are Nurazim Bauatdinov and Shaxbozjon Boboraimov, who are representing our community at this premier leadership experience. Also attending RYLA this year through our sponsorship are Madelyn Hudspeth, Jaylie Roden, and Chayce Campbell.

RYLA is an intensive leadership camp sponsored by Rotary Clubs that helps high school sophomores, juniors, and young adults develop valuable problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills while building confidence and lasting connections.

We are honored to invest in these outstanding young leaders and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their schools, communities, and beyond.
