🐸🌿 Kindergarten Lily Pad Leapers! 🌿🐸

Our PCA Kindergarten students had a hopping good time today with Lily Pad Leapers! 🦘

This fun activity helped our students practice jumping with two feet and balancing when they land while building coordination, body control, and confidence.

Learning through movement makes developing these important skills fun and engaging! We loved watching our little Eagles jump, balance, and encourage one another along the way. 🦅💙

🔬🧪 8th Grade Scientific Method Lab! 🧪🔬

Today, our 8th grade scientists took the scientific method into their own hands! Students worked with partners to ask a question, form a hypothesis, gather materials, write a procedure, and conduct their very own experiments.

Not everything went exactly according to plan—and some last-minute adjustments were needed along the way. But that's exactly what happens in science! 🔍

Science is about more than getting the “right” answer. It’s about asking questions, testing ideas, learning from mistakes, adapting, and trying again. Our students experienced firsthand how scientists use critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, and perseverance to make discoveries.

Way to go, 8th grade! Keep asking questions, keep experimenting, and keep learning! 🦅

➕➖🧠 6th Grade Integer Challenge! 🧠➖➕

Our 6th grade mathematicians put their skills to the test with an Integer Challenge! 🔢🏆

Students worked through challenging problems involving positive and negative integers while using critical thinking, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning to find their solutions.

At PCA, we believe math is about more than getting the right answer. We want students to understand the why behind the mathematics, build confidence, and persevere when problems get challenging.

Over the weekend, many of our PCA students participated in activities and events throughout our surrounding communities.

🎶🦅 3rd Grade Music: Learning Through Song! 🦅🎶

Our 3rd grade students are exploring the beautiful Renaissance motet “Dona Nobis Pacem” (Grant Us Peace)!

Students are learning the first counterpart, experiencing how different vocal parts come together to create harmony and a beautiful musical conversation.

Through this piece, students are also being introduced to word painting—where the music reflects the meaning of the words—while exploring vocal movement through the use of vowels.

What a wonderful way to experience music history while developing musical skills, listening, teamwork, and confidence!

✏️🧪 Pencil vs. Sandwich Bag Experiment! 🧪✏️

Science got a little exciting in 7th grade today! Our students put their predictions to the test with a pencil and sandwich bag experiment.

The challenge: How many pencils can you push through a water-filled sandwich bag without it leaking? 💧✏️

Our students tested, observed, and learned through hands-on experimentation—and the competition was definitely on!

🏆 Today's record: 25 pencils! 🎉

We love seeing our students engaged in science through curiosity, experimentation, and a little friendly competition!

🔬🌿 5th Grade Science: Learning Outside the Classroom! 🌿🔬

Our 5th grade scientists took their learning outdoors for an observation lab!

Instead of simply reading about the world around them, students had the opportunity to observe, investigate, ask questions, and record what they discovered firsthand.

Hands-on experiences like these help students develop important scientific skills while encouraging curiosity, careful observation, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
