The Yoakum County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the position of - Sergeant Investigator. Applicants must possess a current TCOLE Peace Officer License, Intermediate Certification, minimum of 5 years of full time peace officer experience preferred, narcotics investigations experience preferred, and Jailer License or the ability to obtain a Jailer License. Applicant must relocate to Yoakum County. A take home vehicle, handgun, patrol r***e, sh***un, ruggedized laptop, Wi-Fi hotspot, flashlight, external carrier body armor, uniforms, and paid training are provided. Applicant is responsible for providing their own duty gear, and footwear. Applicant must be able to pass extensive background check and Concept 2 Rower physical fitness assessment.

Starting pay is $69,371.04 annually or $33.35 per hour. Effective Jan 1, 2027, will increase to $72,971 PLUS certificate and education pay.

Benefits include (14) fourteen paid holidays per year, (2) two weeks vacation after (1) one year, longevity pay based on TCOLE service time, TCDRS Retirement Plan with 200% County Match, and medical insurance at no cost to the employee, with the ability to add dependent coverage (Spouse/Children) at employee's expense (cost varies).

Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, weekends and holidays off! On call rotation requirement applies.
