A steady rain didn't hamper the annual Stephen P. Hunt Invitational on Thursday, April 30. District 202 Special Olympians from Plainfield South, North, and East high schools kicked off the event with several events. Athletes participated in the 50-yard dash, the mini-javelin throw, and the softball toss. The invitational features track and field athletes from Plainfield High School-Central Campus, PSHS, PNHS, and PEHS, and is named for the late Plainfield High School science teacher and runner. High school Special Olympic athletes have participated in the invitational for about seven years.
