Plainfield Police Department and Plainfield Fire Territory are currently in the 1900 block of Zachary Lane (Bentwood Subdivision) searching for a missing juvenile.
• Name: Antonio Chappell
• Age: 12
• Last seen: Approximately 8:35 PM at his residence
• History: Known to wander from home
• Clothing: Black joggers and a sweater with “Mossy” on the front
• Appearance: Photo provided is accurate, though he reportedly now has short hair

Detective Zuranski conducted a fraud & scams seminar for the Triad Senior & Law Enforcement meetings. This program covers a variety of topics from various subject matter experts in the first responder community. We had a terrific turnout today for this session. 🎣 Kids & Cops Fishing Day at Cops and Bobbers! 🎣
Join us on June 7th from 1 PM – 4 PM at Echo Hollow Nature Park (7700 S County Rd 975 E, Plainfield, IN) for an afternoon of fun, fishing, and community connection!
This free event gives kids the chance to cast a line, learn a few tips, and spend time with local police officers in a relaxed, outdoor setting. We will have fishing equipment available for you to use.

***UPDATE***

Three suspects were taken into custody this afternoon on the south side of Indianapolis after a pursuit tied Two ran from a traffic stop and were caught quickly. A third suspect fired a shot while fleeing but was later arrested and taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound. This wound was not a result of a police action shooting.

Plainfield PD was assisted by IMPD, Carmel PD and ISP.

Community Alert – Vehicle Break-Ins on Plainfield’s West Side

Overnight, we received multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in the areas of Andrews Blvd, Saratoga Blvd and Sugar Grove.
We are asking residents in these neighborhoods to please review any home security or doorbell camera footage from last night and report anything suspicious to the Plainfield Police Department. Even small details can help.
As a reminder:
• Do not leave valuables in your vehicle overnight.
• Always lock your doors, even when parked in your driveway.
• If you notice anything unusual, call us right away. (317-839-8700)

🎉 Congratulations to our 2026 D.A.R.E. Graduates! 🎉
Over the past 10 weeks, our students have worked hard and shown incredible dedication as they completed the D.A.R.E. Program. Throughout the course, they learned essential life skills including:
• Safe and responsible decision‑making
• Strategies to increase situational awareness
• How to navigate and resist peer pressure
• Drug and alcohol awareness and prevention
• Over‑the‑counter and prescription medication safety
We are proud of the maturity, leadership, and enthusiasm these students demonstrated each week. Their commitment to making positive choices sets a strong foundation for a safe and successful future.
A huge thank‑you to our educators, officers, families, and school staff who support this program and our kids every step of the way.

Intersection at State Road 267 and Stout Heritage Parkway is now open.

***Update***

The Plainfield Police Department is currently on the scene of a fatal automobile crash at the intersection of State Road 267 and Stout Heritage Parkway. Two vehicles were involved in the collision. Officers have secured the area, and the roadway around the crash site has been blocked off.

Accident reconstructionist are on scene and actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the investigation is complete and the roadway is reopened.
