🚨 A major milestone for Hendricks County 911!🚨

Behind every emergency call is a team of dedicated professionals working to connect people with help when every second matters. Today, we’re proud to recognize the Hendricks County 911 Center for achieving Tri-ACE Accreditation from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch!

The center has earned three prestigious distinctions:
📞 Emergency Police Dispatch Center of Excellence
🚑 Emergency Medical Dispatch Center of Excellence
🚒 Emergency Fire Dispatch accreditation

This achievement reflects a commitment to excellence, professionalism, and providing the highest level of service to the communities and first responders who depend on them.

It’s always cool to see the many ways our Town staff make a difference, and sometimes that impact happens outside of their day-to-day roles, through volunteering and finding creative ways to connect community resources with those who need them.

Thanks to a great idea from a Town staff member and volunteer with the Hendricks County Animal Shelter, two decommissioned Town fire hydrants have found a new home, and a whole new purpose! 🚒🐶

The hydrants were donated to the shelter for its dog play yards, giving pups like Jake and Max Coleman something new to explore while keeping these retired pieces of equipment out of the scrap yard.

A big thank-you to the staff and volunteers who helped make this happen, and to the Hendricks County Animal Shelter and Hendricks County Friends of the Shelter for their work caring for animals in our community.

Sometimes, making a difference starts with a simple idea, and a little teamwork!

We’re already missing those fall evenings and Sundays at the ball fields, weeknights cheering from the soccer sidelines, and all the little moments that bring our community together. ⚽️⚾️

But just because fall sports are winding down doesn’t mean the fun in Plainfield is over! From community traditions to winter events and local places worth exploring, there’s still so much to look forward to in the months ahead.

That’s what makes Plainfield Anything but Plain. It’s not just the places we go, but the memories we make and the people we share them with.

The Town of Plainfield’s Fall Leaf Pickup Program returns Monday, November 2, and will continue through Friday, December 11, weather permitting.

Please note that leaf pickup will not take place on Wednesday, November 11, for Veterans Day or Monday, November 23, through Friday, November 27, for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Know Your Pickup Day
- Monday: North of Main Street (US 40), west of Avon Avenue, within Plainfield’s corporate limits.
- Tuesday: North of Main Street (US 40), east of Avon Avenue, within Plainfield’s corporate limits.
- Wednesday: South of Main Street (US 40), east of S. Mill Street, and north of Stafford Road, within Plainfield’s corporate limits.
-Thursday: East of S. Center Street, north of Reeves Road, and south of Stafford Road, within Plainfield’s corporate limits.

That’s what community is all about!

Last week, Plainfield Police Department joined our neighbors for National Night Out, and we loved seeing the connections our officers continue to build throughout the community! From meeting new faces to catching up with familiar ones, the evening was filled with conversations, smiles, and meaningful relationship-building.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Contractors are scheduled to close Camby Road on or after Monday, October 12th.

The closure is scheduled to last approximately 60 days and the contractor will re-open the roadway once cold weather limitations set in. Portions of the road are being reconstructed in preparation of new developments approved south of I-70.

During the closure, drivers can detour around by using CR 750 S to get to CR 975 E and Echo Hollow Park. Please see the attached map to illustrate.
