Committee to Elect Rob Cain Plainfield Town Council

Committee to Elect Rob Cain Plainfield Town Council We are here to change the Town of Plainfield into a multi party system where the average citizen's voice can be heard. Member and former officer of F&AM #95.

Meet the Candidate Rob Cain:
I grew up in Terre Haute, the oldest of seven children, so money was always tight. As a young adult I moved to Spencer Indiana and embarked on what I thought would be a lifelong career as a commercial carpenter, life had other plans; in 2008 a flood destroyed our home and most of our worldly possessions. The family and I decided a move to Indianapolis. In 2009 the ho

using market and the economy fell apart so I decided to invest in the housing market (Buy low, sell later). In 2010 I purchased a silk screen printing shop, three years later the family and I decided on a move to Plainfield, better school system, for our children, and all around better quality of life. I left construction to become self-employed with my silk screen shop in 2014. My thoughts on Plainfield are that it's a great place to live, but I want our town to be even better, we should use our resources to do more for the community. I am currently an active volunteer in youth soccer & a non-paid President of a local soccer club. Thank you for your support.

As of 12/31/2015 the political committee has been disbanded. The CFA-4 report will be filed Monday at Hendricks County Voter Registration Office. I had a great time running and would like to thank everybody again. I learned a great deal during the process and would be willing to help somebody that would like to run for a local office. The way I see it, we need more people involved in order to have a better selection of candidates.
Thank You,
Rob Cain

I would like to thank the community and my family for all the support that have given me during and after the election. We had a fantastic campaign with some good numbers.

Rob received 10% more votes than the last Democrat that ran for Plainfield Town Council but not enough to win. Having lived in Plainfield for only two years and first time candidate for any office he is happy with the results.

It's heartbreaking that so many hundreds of millions of people around the world are desperate for the right to vote, but here in America people stay home on election day.

If you missed reading the newspaper today, here is a recap.
Plainfield only has one race between Cain & McPhail. According to the article the candidates are pretty similar with Mr. Cain appearing more focused on property crime & quality of life issues for the Town of Plainfield. He mentioned that tax abatements should only be given to companies that pay a livable wage.

Rob's Thought on the future growth.
We are not that small of a Town and continue to grow. The old guard has done a fantastic job in the past but it's time to start being more proactive with infrastructure. Who wants our US 40 to be like Rockville Road in Avon with all that congestion? Water and sewage will need upgraded so we need to be putting more money back and not giving it to special interest groups (developers & the like).

Mr. Cain's stance on tax abatement.
No tax abatement for businesses that pay a non livable wage. It not good for Plainfield to create jobs that pay minimum wage, if the working poor can't afford non necessities (to purchase) how does our local economy (tax base) grow? Minimum wage earners are typically renters which is usually not good for home values. Minimum wage communities usually have higher crime rates and lower school performance. Import (from other communities) these workers and watch the be**er cars clog up U.S. 40 & 267.
