Thank you Rooted Village for having me to your summer play group at The Loft at Church Street today. I enjoyed reading a story to our youngest residents and participating in circle time! There is one more play group scheduled for next Thursday, August 27th from 10-11:30 am, and it’s open to children ages 5 and under!

🚨 Notice: The Plain City Aquatic Center will be closed Friday, July 17. 🏊‍♂️

Due to the extremely hazardous air quality affecting our area, the Plain City Aquatic Center will be CLOSED today for the safety of our employees and residents.

⚠️ The current Air Quality Index (AQI) is 388, the highest level ever recorded in Plain City since they began recording 27 years ago.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recommends:
• Everyone: Avoid all physical activity outdoors.
• Sensitive groups: Remain indoors and keep activity levels low.
• Keep indoor particle levels as low as possible.

While we understand this closure may be disappointing, the health and safety of our staff and visitors must come first.

👉 At this time, the air quality is forecast to improve to acceptable levels tomorrow, and we plan to reopen for normal operating hours, weather and air quality permitting. Thank you for your understanding, and please stay safe!

🐷🏆 It's already been a busy week at the Madison County Fair, and I'm excited to be back in the ring this Friday for one of my favorite traditions!

I'll be representing Plain City in the Dignitary Hog Show on Friday, July 17 at 10:00 AM during the Livestock 101 Show, where I'll once again be competing for the title of Best Hog Showman alongside Congressman Mike Carey, Mayor Patrick Closser, the Madison County Commissioners, and other local leaders. Wish us luck, bragging rights are on the line! 😄

More importantly, I hope you'll make time to visit the fair this week and support the incredible young people who have spent countless hours preparing their livestock and projects. Their hard work, dedication, and commitment are what make the Madison County Fair such a special tradition each year.

The 2026 Madison County Fair runs through Saturday, July 18 at the Madison County Fairgrounds in London.
