Plain City Elementary PTO Volunteer opportunities listed soon. What We Do

As a group of parents and guardians, we support and assist the teachers and administrators of our school.

Through the time and talent offered by our volunteers and the money we raise through our fundraisers, we were able to provide the following programs and events throughout the school year: Carnival, COSI on Wheels, Author-Illustrator visits, Proficiency Breakfast, and Theater Production. We are happy to also provide incentives for programs like Camp Invention, and show appreciation for our Faculty

throughout the year. We have also purchased music instruments, physical education equipment, art supplies, 2 Smart Boards, new books for the Library, and digital cameras to capture memories that can be shared with families during the school year at all of these events. PTO holds meetings on a monthly basis to discuss fundraisers, how to allocate funds generated from fundraisers, volunteer opportunities, and ways to support our students and staff at Plain City Elementary. Please refer to your Plain City Elementary magnet for the meeting dates. The meetings are open to ALL parents and guardians and all are encouraged and invited to attend. Teenage babysitting is provided at no charge as a service of the PTO. PTO Membership

Every fall we have a Membership Drive. Parents and Guardians may join the PTO for a $5.00 fee. As a paid member of PTO you will receive a student directory. You are not required to be a member of PTO to attend the meetings or to volunteer in the school. However, in order to vote on PTO agenda items, you must be a paid member. PTO Volunteers

PTO Volunteers are essential to the success of Plain City Elementary! Volunteering in your child’s school is an excellent way to see your child in the school setting and to become familiar with his or her day. If you are unable to volunteer during regular school hours, there are opportunities to volunteer that may be more accommodating to your schedule. Every contribution is important to our school. Volunteering is an excellent opportunity to let your child know how important their school and education is to you. Please take a moment to look over the Volunteer Interest Form and select the areas you are interested in volunteering for. Thank you for your support!

Staff Appreciation week is quickly approaching and we can't wait to spoil our staff but need your help! We love to stock the teachers lounge to help the teachers and staff push through the end of the school year. If you are able to, please sign up to bring an item by Friday, May 8th. Thank you!

Everything from the Lost and Found is spread out over the tables. Please have your child collect their treasures!!
A gentle reminder also to put some sort of identifier in jackets and hoodies if possible!! Of the three HUGE bags, there were only three items that had names!!

There is also a box of water bottles and lunch boxes, a box of matching gloves and scarfs and a box of winter hats!!!!

Parent Information Meeting minutes from Feb. 9, 2026 @ 5:30pm

We are excited to begin the process of reestablishing our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) to ensure strong collaboration and engagement between families, staff, and our school community for the 2026–2027 school year.

Becoming a PTO member gives you the opportunity to vote, nominate candidates, participate in committees, share ideas, and support school initiatives! There is no obligation to attend regular meetings. Membership simply opens the door for involvement at whatever level works best for your family. We hope you’ll join us as we continue building a kind, strong, and supportive PTO for our students, staff, and families.

Family Movie Night
Join us for Family Movie Night featuring the movie, Toy Story!

All families are invited and at least one guardian must be present the entire showing.

When: Friday, November 14th
Times: Last names beginning with A-L from 5:00-6:30pm
Last names beginning with M-Z from 7:00-8:30pm

Popcorn, candy, water, and photo ops will be provided.

Please bring a blanket and/or sleeping bag for camping out on the gym floor, and chairs will be provided in the back for anyone unable to sit on the floor.
