CHP Explorer Post 245 This page represents the California Highway Patrol's Explorer group based out of the Placerville Off

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Explorer Program is a unique and challenging opportunity that allows young men and women (ages 15-21) to be an integral part of the Department’s operations and experience what a career in law enforcement would be like. Explorers are trained in many aspects of law enforcement and they work with officers in the field as they patrol the streets and highways of Cali

fornia. Successful completion of the Explorer program is the first step. It opens many doors and presents many opportunities for the youth of tomorrow, especially for an Explorer who is planning to make the CHP a career. Explorers have gone on to attain their college degrees, enter federal service careers with the FBI and Secret Service, attend military academies, or move into other law enforcement or public service careers.

At this time all of us at Solano Post 365 would like to congratulate two of our most respected advisors for surviving their first week in the California Highway Patrol Academy. Nathan Hagler and Taylor Cahoon are currently apart of CTC 1-14, please keep them in your thoughts as they embark on a grueling 27 week journey to become officers in the finest Law Enforcement Agency in the world.

The Explorers figured that out and with the mass numbers of CHP Explorers at the competition they took the grounds by force.

Explorer Advisor Officer San Filippo of Post 245 conducting final inspections of the CHP 1930 Model A Ford with the help of Explorer Stetina and Explorer Woodfill. Officer San Filippo will drive in today's event parade across the San Francisco bay bridge. Riding in the Model A with him will be Commissioner Joe Farrow, Commissioner Warren Stanely and Commissioner Mona Preita. Thanks to the efforts of these Explorers, the CHP will be represented with great pride and provide the top three Commissioners with a great and historic memory during their career.

Explorer Woodfill and Explorer Stetina had the great honor of taking a picture alongside Commissioner Joe Farrow during the San Francisco Bay Bridge historical opening today. They volunteered their own time on Labor Day weekend too assist the CHP make this a great and safe event. Way to represent Post 245 during this memorable and historic event.
