TEMPORARY DETOUR, TRAFFIC CONTROL OPERATIONS SCHEDULED FOR SOUTHBOUND SILVA VALLEY PARKWAY IN EL DORADO HILLS, CA

El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation will implement a closure of southbound Silva Valley Parkway between Clarksville Rd and Tong Road to allow for the installation of water and sewer lines under the roadway starting Monday, June 8th, 2026.

Work is anticipated to continue for subsequent weekdays through August 11, 2026, to coincide with the summer break for Buckeye Union School District. The southbound lanes will remain closed at all times, though work will generally be performed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Work on weekends or night work may be authorized, and on-site signage will reflect any changes.

Southbound traffic on Silva Valley Parkway will be detoured onto Clarksville Road and will reconnect with Silva Valley Parkway south of the highway. Highway-bound traffic and drivers accessing Tong Road will turn left at Silva Valley Parkway from the detour route. Traffic exiting Highway 50 and northbound traffic on Silva Valley Parkway will not have their routes affected, but motorists should expect additional traffic on the northbound approach and possible delays. See the attached detour map for additional information.

Motorists should be aware of large trucks entering or exiting the roadway and should follow the direction of any flaggers or traffic controls when present. Message boards will be present on Silva Valley Parkway and connecting roads, and any changes to the scheduled work will be reflected on-site.

Motorists are advised to slow down through the work zone and expect delays during construction. Motorists are also advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work zone to arrive at their destinations on time or use alternate routes to avoid the construction area.

The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists who use this roadway, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused by the work.

For questions regarding this construction, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621 5900 (select Option 3 for Engineering).

EL DORADO COUNTY TO PERFORM ROAD, BRIDGE WORK
MOSQUITO ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT
Road Closure from May 30, 2026, through August 7, 2026

El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation (DOT) will be performing structures, drainage, materials deliveries, crane maintenance, road maintenance, and bridge maintenance work on Mosquito Road from 0.6 miles north to 0.8 miles south of the Mosquito Road Bridge. The construction work will require full closure of Mosquito Road at the gates beginning Saturday, May 30, 2026, and continue through Friday, August 7, 2026, while school is out of session. A detour has been established via Rock Creek Road for which motorists should expect delays and allow extra time for travel.
The closure is necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while the County’s Contractor performs drainage system installations, structures concrete placements, materials deliveries, and miscellaneous Contract work for the Project that is on or adjacent to Mosquito Road. The County DOT Road Maintenance Crew will be performing weekly inspections and pothole repairs on Mosquito Road throughout the summer closure and year. The County DOT Bridge Crew will also be performing annual bridge maintenance work on the Mosquito Road Bridge while the roadway is closed.
All work will allow for emergency access at the end of each shift and on weekends in the event of an emergency or evacuation. The exceptions will be during crane maintenance, and/or any structural member replacement that will keep the old Mosquito Bridge closed until the bridge is structurally safe to allow access, in which case the County will update Emergency Services in advance. In the event of an evacuation, work will shut down to accommodate Emergency Services and public traffic.
During the full closure work, Project activities adjacent to Mosquito Road will require intermittent reversing traffic controls, flaggers, construction signs, changeable message boards, and piloted semi-truck/trailer loads. Various locations of Mosquito Road will utilize these traffic controls as needed from Union Ridge Road to Rock Creek Road and may also include the dirt road access to Quintette Fire Station. Traffic stops are intended to be a maximum of ten minutes but could take 20 minutes depending upon traffic of slow-moving equipment and wide loads. Traffic will be released as soon as there is safe travel through the work zones. The public should anticipate delays, drive the posted speed limits, stop for flaggers, and anticipate slowdowns in work zones.
The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use this roadway, and we apologize for any inconvenience these closures cause.
For questions regarding this closure, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621-5900 (select Option 3 for Engineering).

UTILITY WORK TO UNDERGROUND THE UTILITIES ARE PLANNED TO BEGIN IN APRIL 2026 FOR THE GREEN VALLEY ROAD AT INDIAN CREEK AND MOUND SPRINGS CREEK BRIDGE REPLACEMENT PROJECTS
El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation (Transportation), in coordination with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) and AT&T, will be performing utility work anticipated to begin in April 2026 and continuing through approximately December 2026. This utility relocation work is being done as part of the road-widening and bridge-replacement project.

On December 13, 2016, the Board signed Resolution 205-2016 to create an underground utility district in this area to improve the safety, public health, and welfare of County residents along this roadway. Bridge construction is anticipated to begin in spring 2027.

The work will require occasional shoulder and lane closures during which motorists should expect delays. These closures are necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while the contractors for the utility companies complete the undergrounding of the utilities.

Motorists are advised to slow down through work zones and allow extra time to arrive at their destinations on time.

For questions regarding this project, please contact the County’s Transportation main line at (530) 621-5900 (select Option 3 for Engineering).
