Burn Suspension Lifted for Monday and Tuesday

Effective at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, June 8, the temporary burn suspension for outdoor debris burning in CAL FIRE State Responsibility Areas (SRAs) within Amador, El Dorado, Alpine, Sacramento, and San Joaquin counties will be lifted. Residents may resume permitted outdoor debris burning on Monday and Tuesday.

We will continue to closely monitor weather and fire conditions and will provide another update Tuesday afternoon regarding the status of burning for the remainder of the week and potentially the remainder of the fire season.

If you choose to burn during these two days, please do so safely:
✅ Clear at least 10 feet around the burn pile down to bare soil.
✅ Keep piles small and manageable.
✅ Have a water supply and hand tools readily available.
✅ Maintain constant attendance of your fire and never leave it unattended.
✅ Fully extinguish the fire with water and stir the ashes until they are cold to the touch.

Your attention to safe burning practices helps protect our communities.
