Civil Air Patrol is a volunteer organization dedicated to providing Aerospace Education, Emergency Services, and Cadet Programs opportunities to communities across the United States and in Puerto Rico. Cadets ages 12-18 and Senior Members aged 18+ can enjoy opportunities like no other with the Civil Air Patrol. Aerospace Education:
Cadets are granted five powered orientation rides, which enables
them to not only fly an airplane, but learn more about the dynamics of how aircrafts work. They are also offered five glider orientation rides, where they can fly a glider with the assistance of a licensed senior member. CAP cadets can receive unique opportunities to earn their private pilot's certificate and attend hands on, interactive Aviation and STEM classes that are designed to get youth interested in STEM related careers. Emergency Services:
Civil Air Patrol is the official Auxiliary of the United States Air Force, our members are routinely called to find downed and missing aircraft and persons. In the 2021 fiscal year alone, CAP has been credited with saving 53 lives! Other opportunities for Emergency Services include survival training, first air training, and so much more! Cadet Programs:
In the 1950's, CAP released a Cadet Program, tasked with preparing today's youth to be tomorrow's leaders. Cadets are offered monthly leadership classes, leadership courses similar to military leadership programs, and constant leadership opportunities at Civil Air Patrol events.
