Our Volunteer Firemen’s Relief Association, (a separate entity within the Bureau that manages our state aid) was very pleased to honor our longtime financial advisor, John “Casey” Donahue at our recent meeting. Casey had provided tremendous guidance and support to our organization over the years and helped secure our financial success. Casey recently retired from his financial advisor position. We’re sad to see him go, but wish him a long, happy and healthy retirement. We’ll still see him around, as he remains an active member of our mutual aid partner, Jenkins Township Fire Dept.

There’s nothing more iconic than the traditional brass sliding pole in a firehouse. We take pride in having a pole at our HQ. Our members take great pride in it and always make sure it’s well polished. Capt. M. Ankenbrand and FF D. Malvizzi gave the pole a fresh shine earlier today

Special congratulations to PBF Assistant Chief J. Ankenbrand on his recent retirement after many years of service to Luzerne County Department of Emergency Services - 911 Communications. Certainly his contributions and insights will continue to live on and pay dividends for emergency service field units throughout the County

Another great parade day in the books in Downtown Pittston! We started a new tradition this year, our post parade Party With the Bravest at Fire Headquarters - giving our members, friends and family a chance to keep the party going safely once the parade ends. We’d like to extend a special thank you to our friends with the Greater Scranton Black Diamonds Pipe Band for stopping by and putting on a great performance!

Everyone remembers Engine 3! That workhouse engine with the unmistakable Detroit Diesel sound, it was used by the PBF for nearly 40 years, and fought some of the biggest fires in our downtown corridor. It’s still around and hopefully we can get it out to one of our parades in the near future. Thanks to the Greater Pittston Historical Society for this great colorization

It’s Parade Week in Pittston! As always, we invite our fellow firefighters (class A uniforms please) to join us in the line of march as we parade through beautiful downtown Pittston!

We are also sending out our congratulations and best wishes to fellow firefighter - John “Casey” Donahue of Jenkins Township Fire Dept. who has been selected as this year’s honorary grand marshal!
