Pittsfield Police Department Release

The Pittsfield Police Department is aware of the recent vandalisms that have occurred in town, and are investigating the incidents.

We are asking for residents who live on Shingle Mill, Tilton Hill, Depot, Elm, Main , Water, Lyford Hill, Leavitt and Loudon roads to check their security cameras between the hours of 1 AM and 2 AM on March 28th for a dark colored extended cab pick up.

Anyone who has a camera that captured a vehicle matching this description is asked to contact Sgt Swift at the Pittsfield Police Department.

We are pleased to announce that Officer Michael Volpe was officially sworn into the Pittsfield Police Department by Erica Anthony.

Officer Volpe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and brings eight years of law enforcement experience, having previously served with the Dover Police Department, Middleton Police Department, and New Durham Police Department.

We are excited to welcome Officer Volpe to the Pittsfield Police Department and look forward to the contributions he will make to our community.

The Pittsfield Police Department is proud to partner with project safe child to help spread the message of responsible fi****ms ownership. Learn more on project safe child’s website, and stop by the police department to pick up a free gun safety kit and cable style gun lock.

In New Hampshire, fi****ms must be stored securely to prevent unauthorized access, especially by children. The law requires fi****ms to be stored in a locked box, gun safe, or a similar secure location, or secured with a trigger lock.

November 18, 2025 - The Pittsfield Police Department responded to the elementary and middle high schools for an emergency alarm.

After a review of both schools it was determined there was no threat it was a false alarm.

Normal operations at both schools have resumed.

Thanks to everyone’s cooperation the matter was resolved with out issue and were actively reviewing how there was a false activation.
