This year’s Environment Riders will traverse 150 miles in and around Bethlehem, PA on road and multi-use trails in support of PEC’s mission. Our riders need your help to meet their fundraising goal! From now until the end of October, the 2026 Environment Riders are asking YOU to support them in their trek through Bethlehem. And this year’s contributions to riders can be doubled!

Thanks to our generous Board of Directors, donations from new and lapsed donors are being matched one-to-one. All donations will support PEC's vital work on clean energy, watershed protection, trail development and maintenance, and so much more.

We’re looking forward to the 2026 Eastern PA Greenways and Trails Summit on September 16th-18th! There are many great sessions lined up, but we’re especially excited to hear PEC Program Manager, Helena Kotala, talk about one of our upcoming projects.

Helena will give attendees a sneak preview of a new website PEC has been working on. Once completed, this website will help people discover Pennsylvania's incredible trail network.

Those at the session can expect a brief demonstration on the functionality of the website, background on how it originated, why it's needed, and how trail managers and businesses can get involved.

PA Organization for Watersheds and Rivers is sponsoring a limited number of registrations for watershed organizations, nonprofits, and volunteers for October’s Winter Salt Wise certificate program.

Winter Salt Wise is a one-day training opportunity designed to help landscape, maintenance, and public works professionals make informed and environmentally responsible decisions about salt use during winter months. Participants will learn how to reduce salt use, protect infrastructure, and safeguard ecosystems without compromising safety.

Kick off the Public Lands Ride weekend with us at Nittany Mountain Works!

You’re invited! Join Nittanymountainworks, Durable, Sustainable, Gear for Climbers, and the PECPA for an open house at Nittany/Organic’s solar-powered sewing workshop to kick off the Public Lands Ride weekend!

Look behind the scenes at how outdoor gear is sustainably sewn in central PA, connect with fellow cycling and outdoor enthusiasts, and learn about PEC’s work to expand trails and outdoor recreation opportunities across PA.

This event is open to the public and you don’t have to be registered for the Public Lands Ride to attend. Hope to see you there!

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) Our Shared Waters: A Look at the Delaware River Basin has moved into phase two of their Water Resources Resilience Plan. This resource will help DRBC prioritize actions for evaluating impacts of climate change and formulating management approaches to improve resilience and adaptation.
