Borough of Bellevue

Borough of Bellevue Bellevue is 1.1 square miles in size and home to over 8,000 residents.

Bellevue is one of the few areas in Pittsburgh that still boasts an old fashioned business district right in the heart of town featuring shops, restaurants, banks, and churches. The Town of Bellevue was first incorporated in 1867 when the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania granted a tract of land called Sidney Bottom to Hugh H. Brackenridge of Pittsburgh and an adjoining tract, called Sandy Bottom to Ja

mes Robinson of Allegheny Town. The combined area of Sidney Bottom and Sandy Bottom totaled 640 acres and sits in what is now the eastern part of Bellevue. Interestingly, this area was originally known as the "Depreciation Lands" because after the Revolutionary War, parts of this land were offered to soldiers who had come home from the war bankrupt and weary. In addition to the old fashioned shopping district, Bellevue is also one of the few remaining towns in the area that features a vibrant walking community. The business district, churches, schools, Borough Building, and the Bayne Library and Park are all with in easy walking distance of most of the homes in the community.

*UPDATE* Renton is alright! He is with the police and will be with us soon. Thank you to everyone who helped with this search and the Ross Township Police Department who worked on this day and night. Please give us some time to sort this out privately. God has blessed us today with Renton's safe return, and with a community we are proud to be a part of.

This Renton... he's 17 year old and may have run away. He left school in Pittsburgh's North Hills around 9am, and was seen around 1pm at the downtown Greyhound station. They think he may have taken a bus to either Columbus, Cleveland, Harrisburg, NYC, DC, or Baltimore. His phone is off and can't be pinged. He's a sweet kid, and his family loves him a lot. Please keep an eye out for Renton... and if you know anything, message his mom, Sharon Kenny Reel. Thanks, everyone. Feel free to share if you're in Pittsburgh or one of those cities, but check back so you can't delete it when he's found!
