🚒 OPEN HOUSES ARE FOR ALL!🚒

Our Evergreen Volunteer Fire Company Open House on Sunday, October 4 from 1–4 PM is an opportunity for everyone in our community to stop by, learn more about fire safety, your local fire company, and how you can get involved.

Whether you’re a parent, homeowner, neighbor, retiree, young adult, or simply someone who wants to learn more about emergency services, we’d love to see you!

🔥 Interested in volunteering with Evergreen? There are many ways to serve our community!

👨‍🚒 Firefighter – Train to respond to emergencies and help protect our community.

🚒 Engineer – Become trained to operate and assist with our apparatus and equipment.

🧯 Fire Ground Support – Support emergency operations at incidents without necessarily serving as a traditional interior firefighter.

📋 Administrative Volunteer – Not interested in emergency response? You can still make a tremendous difference! Administrative volunteers help with the day-to-day operations of our company, including:

• Planning & event coordination
• Marketing & communications
• Community outreach
• Finance & administration
• Fundraising
• And much more!

Being a volunteer firefighter is just one way to serve your community. There is a place for people with different skills, interests, schedules, and experiences.

Did you know that correctly used child restraints can reduce the risk of fatal injury in a passenger car crash by 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers? Unfortunately, NHTSA reports that about half of car seats are installed incorrectly, even though many parents and caregivers believe they know how to install them correctly.*

That's why we're excited to welcome UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh's Safe Kids Allegheny County team to our Open House! Their team will be on site providing:

🚗 Car seat checks and installation assistance
🧒 Child safety and injury prevention tips
🏥 Hands-on education safety professionals
🚐 The Safe Kids mobile safety center

Safe Kids Allegheny County, led by Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh, provides community programs including car-seat checks and safety education designed to help parents and caregivers prevent childhood injuries.

And the best part? The entire event is FREE and open to the public! 🎉

Come visit your local volunteer firefighters, learn more about fire and life safety, bring the kids, and take advantage of this great opportunity to make sure your little ones are riding as safely as possible.

A few of us from our department went to an event at Bella Terra Stables called Beat the Burnout, and it was AMAZING! We are super excited to share this event with other First Responders and their families! We cannot wait to attend this event. We hope to see others from our area there as well.

Does anyone have a fire extinguisher simulator, dunk tank, and/or bounce house (hoping to get one like the one pictured, but any will do) we can borrow????
