Engine 247 operated in company 188's area as the second due engine. The Engine company operated for under an hour extinguishing fire and opening up.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member William “Pappy” Schneider. His tenure within our department spans decades and helped shape who we are today. Bill served in many operational and administrative positions throughout the years, including 2 years as President and many years as a Fire Police Officer. Where Bill’s indelible mark will be left on the department, was his time as Engineer and Chief Engineer. He helped shape our Apparatus Maintenance program from its inception and always made sure the rigs were running great.

After his “retirement” from active service, he was a familiar face around the firehouse attending meetings, stopping in a drill or even just to see what was new. He was incredibly proud of his membership with the organization and took the time to educate newer members when he could. We also recognize his incredible service to Ross Township as he was also a Life Member of the Evergreen Fire Company and Ross Twp. Fire Police.

We extend our sincerest condolences to the Schneider family on his passing along with our colleagues at Evergreen and Fire Police. We will Always Remember the dedication to the organization that Pappy had and it will live on for years to come.

Additional coverage from last night's incident.

Truck 247 was special requested for the physical rescue overnight. A worker fell from a height. Ross West View EMS stabilized the patient and loaded him into a stokes. Truck 247 used the basket mount for the stokes to lower the patient to the ground.
