Leaders in Intersectional Public Health and Equity exists to encourage individuals to approach public health and navigate life with an intersectional and equity-informed stance. LIPHE community seeks to adopt a more contextual understanding of how health impacts people according to intersections of social identity, inclusive of gender, s*x, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, nationality, relig

ion, age and ability. Rooted in the previous name, the Association of Women in Public Health, LIPHE seek to uplift the voices of and share experiences of health across different lived experiences, and further knowledge of how to support and advance initiatives for health equity.

We have an exciting meeting coming up this coming Tuesday, March 14th at 8 pm on Zoom. We will be hosting a panel discussion on the current LGBTQ+ Policy Landscape with speakers, Lynz Sickler (t.ly/XCaP) and Dr. Kacie Kidd (t.ly/NUQz).

We cannot work towards equity without acknowledging and holding accountable the trauma and tragedy of European colonization. "Thanksgiving" is a false, White-washed narrative. Commit to decolonizing your knowledge and spaces by supporting Native sovereignty, listening to activists, and educating yourself. The resources mentioned in this post is only the beginning. Please continue to educate yourself and those around you.
