For 15+ years, Josie White & Firefighter Marc Bruner began the tradition to honor 9/11 by delivering meals to Pittsburgh Fire stations as a heartfelt thank-you to our firefighters.

What began with one tray of lasagna has grown into a tradition serving thousands of first responders.

Today at Fire Station 8, Josie & Marc were recognized for her incredible dedication and continued support of Pittsburgh’s firefighters and First Responders.

Twenty-five years ago, as others ran from danger, firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, and other first responders ran toward it.

Today, Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Local No. 1 remembers the 343 FDNY members and all first responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001, and made the ultimate sacrifice.

Their courage, sacrifice & memory will Never Be Forgotten. Rest easy Brothers and Sisters.

Day 2 of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire Recruit Class 136! 🚒🔥

Today, our newest recruits took time to learn about the proud history and traditions of IAFF Pittsburgh Fire Fighters Local No. 1 from President Ralph Sicuro and members of the Executive Board.

We’re proud to welcome 20 new members into Local No. 1 as they begin their careers serving the citizens of Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh Fire Fighters were proud to take part in the Sharing & Caring Annual Veterans Boat Ride aboard the Gateway Clipper, honoring hospitalized and recovering veterans from across the tri-state area.

Members of Engine 24, Fireboat 1, and our retired Fire Fighters joined veterans, their families, caretakers, volunteers, and veterans organizations for a great day on Pittsburgh’s rivers.

We are grateful to every veteran for their service and sacrifice and hope they enjoyed a well-deserved day on the water. A special thank you to everyone who volunteers their time to make this meaningful tradition possible! 🇺🇸

Today marks the beginning of a new journey as the newest Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire recruit class 136 reported to the Training Academy on Washington Boulevard!

Over the next 29 weeks, these recruits will train, learn, and develop the skills needed to become Pittsburgh Firefighters & EMTs. Their hard work and dedication will prepare them for a career centered on protecting lives, serving our neighborhoods, and being there for the citizens of Pittsburgh when they’re needed most.

We wish them the best as they take their first steps toward joining the proud tradition of the Pittsburgh Bureau of Fire!
