At 1:40 pm, the first alarm was dispatched into Jefferson Hills for the residential fire. 232 Asst 1 came across this fire and radioed it directly to AC911.

What started as a small fire in the rear of the house quickly grew given wind conditions. 232 Engine arrived as first due engine and stretched a handline to the rear of the house for suppression.

301 Engine 1 arrived and established a water supply and stretched an additional handline. 5 total handlines were placed in service.

Crews were faced with heavy fire conditions on the first and second floor and were able to bring the fire under control.

232 Asst 1 had the command until it was turned over to 180 Deputy 1.

232 operated for approximately 3 hours on scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Allegheny County Fire Marshall.

No worries as we will still respond to any and all of your emergencies while the Engine gets much needed repairs.

Thank you McGann and Chester, LLC. for assisting with the tow and repairs.

It is with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of former member Bob “Lippy” Lype who passed on March 4th.

Bob served as the Fire Chief in 1981.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Bob’s family during this difficult time.
