The General Election on Tuesday, November 3 will be here before you know it! Here are some key dates to remember:

Monday, Oct. 19 – Last day to register to vote.
Tuesday, Oct. 27– Last day to apply for an absentee or mail-in ballot.
Tuesday, Nov. 3 – Election Day: Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. Voters must be in line by 8 p.m. to cast their ballot. Mail-in and absentee ballots must be received by your county election office by 8 p.m.

Perkins Tree Service will be working in the Borough-owned lot adjacent to 344 Spruce Run Road on Tuesday, September 8, 2026. We kindly request that residents who live in the 300 block of Spruce Run move their car prior to 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, to avoid being blocked in by work vehicles.

The Avalon Borough Administrative Office will be closed on Friday, September 4, 2026-Monday, September 7, 2026 in observance of Labor Day. The office will re-open at 8:00 am on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

If you need immediate assistance, please call 9-1-1. The Avalon Police Department is always on duty and available to help. We appreciate their tireless dedication to this community.

A big shout-out to the Public Works Crew, the Avalon Volunteer Fire Department, the lifeguards, gate guards and snack shack employees who spent their summers at the Avalon Pool, Avalon Borough Council, and Mayor Weleski as well - thank you for all you do to help Avalon thrive.

📣 Many residents in Bellevue received a letter from the USPS today letting them know that they plan to permanently abandon the idea of a new Bellevue branch. They are advertising a virtual community meeting on September 14th at 11:00am ET for residents to weigh in with thoughts and comments. Given that this is a priority for so many, we encourage as many people as possible to join and advocate for bringing the post office back.

Since this is a Federal issue, residents can also reach out to Bellevue’s U.S. Congressperson, Chris Deluzio, and his office to express their concerns. Thank you to everyone for your advocacy!
