We love our library!

If you haven't visited the Avalon Public Library lately, make plans to do so immediately. Summer reading kicks off soon...but the library also offers a wide range of year-round programming for people of all ages. It's a true gem.

Join me this Saturday, May 30 for my FREE paper shredding event in Ross Township with Senator Lindsey Williams. We'll be set up from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Ross Department of Public Works. It’s a great opportunity to safely dispose of documents with sensitive information and finish up your spring cleaning.

Please remember there is a limit of two boxes or two kitchen-size garbage bags per vehicle, and cars will not be permitted to line up more than 30 minutes before the event begins.

The Avalon Borough Administrative Office, the Avalon Police Department Administrative Office, and the Avalon Department of Public Works will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026, in honor of Memorial Day.

The Avalon Pool will be open from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

If you need immediate assistance, please call 9-1-1 to contact the Avalon Police Department. Our officers are always available to help.

This is more than a day off. Today, we remember and honor those who gave everything for something greater than themselves.

Two days, one big beautiful community yard sale, from Brighton Heights to Emsworth! To get your yard sale on the map, go to the Bellevue Forward page, or go online to www.bellevuepa.us.

On Saturday, CPCBA will be a hospitality stop for hardcore yard sale goers! Our bathrooms will be open for use, the El Sabor food truck will be on site, and our kiddos will be having a lemonade stand to benefit Save our Strays in Avalon. If you want to sell some things but don’t have a yard, you can set up a table on our lawn! Just reach out to the church at 412-761-1233.

On Sunday, we’re having a community picnic from 11:30–1:30; all are welcome and there’s no charge!
