🦌 Franklin Park Borough Police Department Wildlife Reminder 🦌

It’s that time of year when residents may begin seeing fawns resting alone in yards, parks, and wooded areas. While it may appear the fawn has been abandoned, this is normal behavior. Mother deer often leave their fawns hidden while they forage nearby and will return when they feel it is safe.

In accordance with guidance from the Pennsylvania Game Commission, we ask residents to:
• Leave fawns where they are found
• Keep children and pets away from wildlife
• Do not attempt to feed, move, or handle a fawn
• Contact authorities only if the animal is clearly injured or in immediate danger

Protecting wildlife means giving animals the space they need to survive naturally. Thank you for helping keep Franklin Park’s wildlife safe and healthy.
