Help us clean up Garfield!

Our friends at Allegheny CleanWays are kicking off a series of monthly community cleanups, and they’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand!

The first cleanup will tackle a tire pile and illegal dumping near 4823 Rosetta Street. Come out, meet some neighbors, and help make a visible difference in our community. 💪🌿

This is the first of four cleanups happening on the second Saturday of each month from September through December, so there will be plenty of opportunities to get involved.

Opening this First Friday on Penn Avenue!

Make the Irma Freeman Center for Imagination one of your stops during Unblurred: First Friday this week for the opening of Echo & Insight, a group exhibition by The Pittsburgh Group.

Echo & Insight celebrates creativity, care, and collaboration, bringing together work shaped by 11 local artists’ individual practices and the ideas, feedback, and inspiration they share with one another.

We love our Bloomfield and this has been a VERY difficult summer. It’s not going to get any easier. We understand the frustration of the traffic and construction on the Avenue here. We wanted to share that the gas company will be beginning their project within the first week of November and that project will last 80 days.

This post is not meant to be a complaint but more than anything else, a reach out for you to support all of us here in Bloomfield in any way you can.

This September, La Promesa Foundation is hosting its first-ever Gala at Phipps Conservatory in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The evening will bring the community together to celebrate local Hispanic students and raise funds for La Promesa’s scholarship program.

Since 2023, La Promesa has awarded more than $80,000 in scholarships to over 40 Hispanic students in the Pittsburgh region.
