Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship Soaring to Success by developing strong Characters, Academics, Relationships, and Entrepreneurs!

The Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship provides a hands-on, engaging program designed to bring entrepreneurial and economic concepts alive for students. The lessons related to the core elementary school curriculum of science, math, social studies, and language arts incorporates foundational economic and entrepreneurial concepts. Young entrepreneurs produce goods and services, elected officials establish laws, Crime Stoppers keep the peace, judges arbitrate disputes, and reporters track down stories. All citizens earn wages in the school’s “inventive” currency, invest in product ideas, deposit and borrow money from “inventive” banks, and pay taxes, tuition and rent.

Today we pause to remember. On the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we honor the lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the families and communities forever changed.

At PHCSE, remembrance is also an opportunity to help our scholars think deeply about courage, compassion, and how we see one another. We want our students to understand that fear should never keep us from recognizing another person’s humanity.

We remember. We learn. And we carry those lessons forward.

For the third year in a row, Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship has been named a Governor's Breakfast Champion! 🎉

Out of hundreds of schools across the Commonwealth, this honor reflects what our PHCSE community works toward every day: making sure scholars start each morning with a nutritious breakfast and the energy to learn.

Last night, we proudly recognized three outstanding PHCSE graduates as recipients of the 2026 Advancing Youth Initiative (AYI) PHCSE Alumni Scholarship.

Congratulations to:
🎓 Cassidy Johnson
🎓 Nariah Winston-Young
🎓 Nasir Hall

Each student was awarded a $5,000 scholarship to support their continued education, for a total of $15,000 awarded.

These scholarships recognize their hard work, academic achievement, leadership, and commitment to continued success as they continue their educational journeys.

We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and excited to see the impact they will continue to make in high school and beyond.

The Men of Excellence initiative recognizes men who demonstrate meaningful leadership, mentorship, community service, and a commitment to lifting others up.
