Pittsburgh NAACP Youth

Pittsburgh NAACP Youth Inspiring Action Through Advocacy Youth Councils are affiliated with the local NAACP adult branche.

NAACP Youth Councils are a segmentation of the National NAACP organization, which fall under the National Youth and College Division. The Pittsburgh Youth Council is therefore affiliated with the local Pittsburgh NAACP branch, located in the Hill District neighborhood of Pittsburgh. With the help of adult leadership through the local branch, the Pittsburgh NAACP Youth Council focuses on training y

outh, officially persons under the age of 25 but targeted for youth between 13 and 18 years old, and developing skills in advocacy, leadership and social activism. The mission, vision, and objectives are established by the National Youth and College Division and executed by local Youth Councils. In Pittsburgh, we wish to create a platform that enables youth of the city to identify issues and concerns in their communities. Issues they want to address and create solutions through education, awareness and advocacy. We desire to equip young people with leadership competencies and personal and professional skill sets to affect the change they long to create.
