🚌 School Bus Stop Safety Tips for Parents & Caregivers

As you wait for your children at the bus stop, please help keep all children, families, and motorists safe by following these simple reminders:

🚗 Do not block the street.

🚦 Keep intersections clear.

🏠 Do not block driveways.

🚌 Give school buses plenty of room to pass by.

❤️ A safe bus stop starts with all of us. Taking a few extra moments to park responsibly and keep streets, intersections, and driveways clear helps protect our children and our entire community.

🚌 Back to School Safety Reminder

First day of school for the Baldwin - Whitehall School District is Wednesday, August 26, 2026

The Whitehall Borough Police Department reminds all drivers to stay alert and exercise extra caution in school zones.

Please remember:

● Slow down in school zones and obey posted speed limits
● Watch for children walking, biking, or waiting for buses
● Be prepared for frequent stops from school buses
● Avoid distractions while driving, especially during morning and afternoon school hours

📢 Routine Phone System Maintenance

Whitehall Borough will be conducting routine maintenance on our phone system this morning from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM.

During this time, all Borough phone numbers, including the Police Department, will be temporarily unavailable or may experience interruptions.

If you need to contact the Police Department during this period for an emergency, please call 911.

The Police Department emergency and non-emergency number 412-884-1100 will automatically forward calls to Allegheny County 911 during the maintenance window.

We appreciate your patience and understanding.

COMMUNITY DAY ROAD CLOSURES FOR AUGUST 8th:

Flamingo Drive, Southvue Drive, Glen Allen Drive, Maxwell Drive, Roberta Drive, and Wheaton Drive will be closed to all traffic between 8:45 am and 10:00 am for the One Mile Race on Saturday. Please plan accordingly and have all vehicles off the race route by 8 am.

Southvue Drive will be closed to all traffic between Meadowpark and Wheaton from 9 am - 4 pm for activities at Snyder Park.

Borough Park Drive will remain closed to all traffic between the Library Parking Lot and Southvue Drive from 10:30 am to 5 pm for activities at Brennan and Pool Plaza.
