The Pittsburgh area is at risk for flooding related to prolonged days of below freezing temperatures; then sudden warming trends.
Keep an eye out for ice jams that can cause serious flash flooding.
Call your local fire department or other local emergency services if you see ice jams.

This Firefighter Cancer Awareness Month, follow in the footsteps of tens of thousands of U.S. firefighters who are making an impact on firefighter health and safety. Join the NIOSH National Firefighter Registry (NFR) for Cancer.

All U.S. firefighters can join the NFR for Cancer, whether you are paid or volunteer, active or retired, and even if you don't have cancer. When you join, you will answer questions about your fire service history and help NIOSH fill an important gap in our knowledge about cancer in firefighters.

The more we know about cancer in the U.S. fire service, the more we can do to prevent it.
