On April 23rd, a group of our YouthBuild students from different organizations in Pennsylvania took a powerful step forward traveling to the capital, Harrisburg, to speak directly with the representatives of Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and York about how the YouthBuild program has transformed their lives.
From earning their diplomas to learning trades and gaining confidence, each student shared a testimony rooted in resilience and growth. Their voices carried messages of hope, purpose, and the real impact YouthBuild is making in our communities every single day.
Not only did they speak their truth — they stood tall as advocates for themselves, for their peers, and for the future of the YouthBuild program, urging lawmakers to continue investing in programs that uplift and empower young people.
They also had the incredible opportunity to witness a bill being passed on the House floor, seeing firsthand how their voices and civic engagement connect directly to real change.
It was a full-circle moment: from transformation to advocacy to legislative action.
We are so proud of their courage, leadership, and vision. They are proof that when given the tools and support, our youth can build something powerful — including their futures. When you invest in youth, you invest in progress.
