CMU Mock Trial

Will you take the stand? We are CMU's only competitive public speaking and debate program (and proud of it). We love what we do, and we do it a lot.

We have two student-run and student-coached teams that travel to tournaments and compete against other schools. For more information, check out our website (shown below).

Congrats also to our team members who received individual awards including Parker Felterman’s witness award, Grace Joseph’s attorney award, Ryan Driscoll’s attorney award, and Brett Gold’s attorney award and a special shout out to Sufiyan Gajra’s two outstanding witness awards!!

With winter break getting started, let’s take a look back at our fall season

Congratulations to Team Zebra for getting 3rd place at Rutgers’ Scarlet Knight Invitational and an honorable mention at The Geneseo Joust and Team Rhino for coming in 2nd place at The Geneseo Joust

Also congrats to all of our members who got individual awards this fall including Mia Carrarini’s outstanding witness award, Molly Niehaus’s outstanding attorney award, Brett Gold’s honorable mention attorney award, and a huge shoutout to Abhay Liginlal who received 3 outstanding witness awards!!

Last weekend Carnegie Mellon Mock Trial wrapped up our last tournament of the fall semester at the Geneseo Joust. We had a great time competing and can’t wait for the Spring semester!! ⚖️

If you’re interested in getting to know some amazing people and hearing a little about what we do throughout the year make sure to come to one of our events!

⚖️ Friday, August 27th from 5-6pm we’ll be in McConomy Auditorium in Cohon University Center
⚖️ Sunday, August 29th from 4-5pm we’ll be in McKenna Peter Wright in Cohon University Center

⚖️ If you were an animal, what would you be?: A possum, because I’m partially nocturnal and have never died from rabies
⚖️ Who is the most famous person you've ever met?: No one especially famous, but my high school history teacher had his own Wikipedia page.

⚖️ What is your favorite thing about mock trial?: The community. I've met some really amazing people through doing mock trial that I never would have met otherwise.
⚖️ Favorite tv show?: The Good Place - I've laughed. I've cried. I've lost track of how many times I've seen it - highly recommend
