Celebrating 57 years A Fair in the Park, proudly hosted each sept by the Craftsmen’s Guild of Pittsburgh.
AFIP is one of Pittsburgh’s oldest and premier art festivals. Held annually in the beautiful melon park in Shadyside, the event features more than 100 outstanding find artist and crafts people from across the region and throughout the country.
The craftsman Guild of Pittsburgh was founded in 1944 by a small group of potters and has since grown into a vibrant nonprofit organization representing a diverse community of talented artist and find crafts people their passion, creativity, dedication are reflected throughout this beloved annual event.
In addition to exceptional artwork, visitors can enjoy free artist demonstrations, hands-on creative activities, live music and family friendly games making a fair in the Park of memorable experience for Art lovers of all ages.
In the early 1900s the melon estate began importing exotic trees from all over the world. In 1943 Mellon Park was established after the melon family donated the estate to the city of Pittsburgh. In 2021 Mellon Park became Pittsburgh’s first officially certified public Arboretum. It functions as a living outdoor museum, preserving over 550 individual trees representing more than 100 different and rare species.
