CRASH WITH INJURIES

This morning, shortly before 9:00 AM, 163 Rescue was dispatched to I-376 Westbound for a reported five-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, crews found five vehicles involved in a rear-end collision in the passing lane. Crews assisted with traffic control and debris removal while EMS evaluated a total of five patients.

Three patients were transported to local medical facilities for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member and former Secretary, Albert “John” Welch.

Affectionately known as “Soupy,” John joined the Green Tree Volunteer Fire Company in 1971. He faithfully served as Department Secretary for more than 20 years and continued to support the department in countless ways long after his time in office. His dedication, friendship, and commitment to our organization and community will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences to John’s wife, Debby, and the entire Welch family. We are grateful for their lifetime of service and unwavering support of the Green Tree Volunteer Fire Company and the residents of Green Tree Borough.

Friends and family will be received at William Slater Funeral Home, Greentree Road, on Wednesday, July 15, from 2:00–4:00 PM and 6:00–8:00 PM. A Fireman’s Service will be held at 7:30 PM.
